The title may be misleading, but today I had the privilege to talk to someone who gave me the idea (in part) for this. Life Interviews: Your Story (or whatever the title may end up being) is an attempt to capture a moment of someone’s life on video through a day-long interview.
I hope to follow someone for about one day, asking them questions and just hanging out as they show me what they do. What is their job? Where are they from? What are their beliefs? All these questions await to be answered.
Note: since these interviews deal with particular people and their life story some interviews may not be posted online.
I hope you enjoy these interviews and whatever else we may come up with.
God bless,
Banor

How can I write about MaPZone and not mention Blender 3D’s new release, Blender 2.46! Blender is one of, if not my favorite, program I use. It is an excellent 3D modeling, animation, rendering, and compositing program – and besides that, it’s open source, which means you can get it for free! (open source = free content and free code, so that the community can contribute what they think is needed, resulting in a rounded, professional package and frequent releases.)
It’s got a bunch of new features, so go ahead and check it out now!

Check out Blender’s new features!
Keep in mind, however, that Blender is a very complicated program and may take you a long time to learn how to use. If you have any questions as you are learning it, feel free ask me over e-mail or IM – I’d be more than glad to help. I still have a ton to learn myself…
God bless,
Banor

For those interested in CG (computer generated) 3D, I ran across an old article in BlenderNation.com (a great resource for daily news about Blender related topics – you can read the article here,) about MaPZone, a freeware texturing tool for Windows. I haven’t tried it out yet, but it looks promising.
From the website:
MaPZone is simply the most advanced texturing tool ever. MaPZone is only intended to be used for producing high quality textures, and this is what it does best. Based on a unique and patented technology called the FX Maps, MaPZone is the only procedural tool giving you that much control over your creation.
You can check MaPZone out here.
Now onto finishing some important projects so I can be free for filming!
God bless,
Banor

Kenneth Anderson (or Kenny) is my cousin. He has served in the marines, gone to Iraq twice, and enjoys filmmaking. He is currently attending the New School in New York City.
Recently I had a chance to talk to him about filmmaking in general: what camera to buy, different filmmakers who became successful with very small resources, etc. One of the best pieces of advice I got was to just make films – to have fun making films.
Currently he is working with director Vlad Nikolic (director of “Love” and professor at the New School) as a storyboard artist for the upcoming film “Easy Street”. The film is based on a true story and follows the life of a drug dealer. It will probably be rated R, due to heavy language and probably other things. The film has an unusual aspect ratio of something like 3.1 – but I shouldn’t tell too much about the film. And don’t worry, I don’t know a whole lot more!
Here is a picture I shot of Kenny with some of his storyboards for Easy Street.

It is a privilege (and just plain awesome) to see the workings behind a film.
Until later! Thanks for reading and God bless,
Praise God!

Here is a storyboard collage for “Is This Love?” The actual shots and what will be included in the final cut are subject to change.
I drew these up yesterday and did photo editing since with the GIMP.

Here are the posts from the last blog, Sogno Films. See the actual blog here: http://sognofilms.wordpress.com
New name for the filming gang
Recently I found out that the name Songo Films is not unique! Uh oh! Here’s the other site that has the same name: sognofilms.com
Well, so much for that! At least we had a neat name for a few weeks!
I’ve been brainstorming some other ideas, and I will make sure to let you know when the new blog is up, broadcasting our new name! Thanks for listening,
b
P.S. But I am very thankful for the first name. It is a good name.
“Is This Love?” Revised – Script Written!
Praise God! The revised script for “Is This Love?” (see storyboard sample from the last post) is written!
Filming days are not too far off, maybe.
Ciao,
-b
Storyboards for “Is This Love?” (Draft 1) are drawn!
This morning I drew up the storyboards for “Is This Love?”. The film is still in pre-production/concept stage. Here is a sized-down image of one of the storyboards.
Hope you enjoy, God bless, -b
Script Ideas Welcome
I’ve been brainstorming on some film ideas, but I have yet to write the scripts once a feasible idea comes. So, keep praying for me that some great, workable stories will arise and that I will be able to write the scripts well. From there, prayer for the preparations, and once we actually start the filming.
Thanks, God bless!
P.S. Script ideas are welcome, so, if you have any suggestions, please send them straight away to sognofilms@gmail.com. Thanks!
P.P.S. Three scripts wanted: 1 action, 1 drama, and either another drama, or something else.
Welcome to Sogno Films!
Sogno Films will be making some short films soon. Currently we are preparing for the filming work and I will be writing some scripts.
Looking forward to creating those films!
God bless
